Keller Williams new CD coming soon ‘thief’, plays Hangout Beach Music & Arts Festival this weekend.

Keller & The Keels have a new CD coming out on Sci-Fidelity next month called Thief.  There’s a killer cover of “Rehab” on it as well as “Teen Angst” CDs being sent shortly.

“This isn’t your grandfather’s bluegrass – this is Keller bluegrass.  And, as with  everything else this guitarist/vocalist/mad scientist does, that translates to lots of goofy humor and twisty turns.” – LiveDaily

“As we first reported on our sister site, Keller Williams, Larry Keel and Jenny Keel are set to release their follow up to 2005’s Grass. That disc featured three Williams originals along with seven covers. The trio entered the studio again this past December and recorded an album that focuses exclusively on cover material. Thief offers bluegrass interpretations of music from The Butthole Surfers, Ryan Adams, Amy Winehouse, The Raconteurs, Marcy Playground, The Presidents of the United States and Kris Kristofferson. The disc will be released on May 25, with Keller & The Keels now confirmed to support Thief through a number of festival gigs, with additional gigs possible as well.”—Relix

The lightning-fast guitarist endlessly loops his playing onstage using a handful of pedals, eventually creating a veritable symphony of frenetic melodies. Think Andrew Bird (complete with whistling), but danceable.”

“Keller Williams’ latest studio release, ‘thief’, serves as a follow-up to his highly acclaimed 2006 release of anything-but-traditional bluegrass songs, ‘grass’–

He’s also renown host of the syndicated radio show Keller’s Cellar
