Pearl Jam Releases Mother Love Bone Cover

PJ20 Crown of ThornsHappy to report Pearl Jam’s first release from the upcooming Pearl Jam Twenty soundtrack is a cover of  “Crown of Thorns” by Mother Love Bone (one of my all-time favorite tunes, yay).   It will be available tomorrow via itunes. Hear it Now at

“Crown of Thorns,” was recorded live at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on 10/22/2000 at the band’s 10th Anniversay concert. This was the first time the band ever performed this song.

Soundtrack available everywhere September 20.

From the PJ20 CD Booklet: Cameron Crowe: “I asked Vedder about Andrew Wood, the late singer-songwriter of Mother Love Bone, whose passing left the place that Vedder would later fill. Though Vedder chose not to name the song, he did say there was one Wood composition he would be honored to sing ‘one day.’ He declined to say more.”
