Paolo PellegrinBono continues to recover from his serious bike accident a few months ago, but he admits to Rolling Stone that “it’ll be a battle to be match fit” when U2‘s upcoming tour kicks off May 14 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

In an email to the magazine, the 54-year-old U2 frontman notes, “My southpaw is a bit tricky, but my right hook is ready to rumble for sure.”

Bono was cycling in New York’s Central Park November 16 when he collided with another cyclist. He suffered multiple injuries, including a broken left arm, a fractured shoulder blade and a fractured left eye socket.

As for the tour, Bono promises, “We’ve got something beyond incredible planned. And I’m ready to fight for it.”

So far, 19 dates in Europe and North America are confirmed for U2’s iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE tour, which, according to Rolling Stone, will feature alternating set lists each night.
