Bastille’s new album, Wild World, now has a release date. The sophomore effort from the U.K. band will be released September 9, and is available for pre-order now on iTunes.
Bastille revealed the Wild World cover, which features two people sitting precariously on the edge of a building in a busy city.
“To me, the image isn’t about what’s just happened or what happens next,” frontman Dan Smith says of the cover. “It’s not about how they got there or how they get down. It’s about sharing a moment — two friends existing in that split second in that exact space, two people framed in the vast context of this huge mad metropolis that we’ve all built. They’re there out of choice.”
The full Wild World track list has yet to be announced, but the album will include lead single “Good Grief” and a song called “Send Them Off!”
Prior to the album’s September release, Bastille will spend the summer on the festival circuit, including sets at Lollapalooza and Osheaga. The band will also be headlining a show at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in October, followed by a European arena tour.
