Tropical Depression Three Could Effect Clean Up and Containment Efforts

Tropical Depression Three over the Bahamas; Air Force Reconnaissance on its way to investigate further. Forecasters expect system to cross southern Florida, heading into the Gulf of Mexico with a good possibility of becoming Tropical Storm Bonnie. Tropical Storm watches issued for Bahamas and Southern Florida.

Crew members aboard dozens of ships in the Gulf of Mexico are prepared to evacuate if necessary.

Technicians trying to plug BP’s well have been told to stand down because they need several days to clear the area.
