MOBILE, Ala. — The Hangout Beach, Music & Arts Festival scheduled for May 14-16 in Gulf Shores will go on as planned on, festival founder Shaul Zislin said today.
“We’re in constant contact with the local and state authorities on this and if anything changes, we will announce it,” he said. “Right now, there is no decision to cancel.”
The beachfront concert is planned in front and adjacent to The Hangout in Gulf Shores, which is owned by Zislin.

Oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico is expected to eventually wash up on Alabama’s beaches. Federal officials said that likely won’t happen before Wednesday.
“Our No. 1 concern is the health and safety of the fans, the performers and the staff,” he said. “We will base all of our decision on that criteria.”

The beachfront concert’s top acts include John Legend, Ben Harper and the Relentless 7, Allison Krauss and Union Station, the Zac Brown Band, and the Black Crowes.
