Jack White the Hip Hopper?

Jack & Jay went to Nashville;  to record a song together; Jack laid it down; Jay Z rhymed it out; but they haven’t released it yet.

Reason no. 325 why musicianship of Jack White is so adorable, he’s willing to explore more musical realms than a beast with 60 ears. Case in point, recent revelation to British GQ that he and hip hop genius Jay Z recorded a song together!

Yep, Jay Z! Hey they could call it 2 Skinny J’s!    Nah, that name already taken by some groovy raprockin’, sears-sucker wearin’ New York dudes.

Asked about hip hop, White replied:

“I just did a record with Jay-Z,” said White. “We did a song together a few weeks ago. It was incredible. I played him something that I’ve been kicking around for a while and he immediately came out with words for it. It’s unbelievable-sounding.”

No official release revealed.

Apparently the two musical darlings have traded compliments through the media many times. Jay Z told Clash Magazine

“Jack White, he can do it all, He’s a renaissance man. I like anyone who I’m working with to bring their flavour and their energy to the track, or else why get them? If I bring a person in, they are free to do whatever.”

Meanwhile, Jack told Hova Magazine:

“I feel like I’m a lot more to do with Jay-Z than I do with the Black Keys. And I don’t know what that is, it’s just a feeling. I love hip-hop if it’s done with a sense of the blues, even if the person who is creating it isn’t thinking that at all. I think Jay-Z is just incredible. ‘The Black Album’ is one of the best albums of the decade.”

A deliciously different eartease indeed. Maybe we’ll get to see a Jack & Jay Jam at Bonnaroo !!

Meanwhile, we can see the new concert release White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights on a 14 foot screen with Band Sound Equipment — it’ll be a virtual concert TONIGHT at the Blind Mule, downtown Mobile.
