Greening while beaching! Charge your electronics while you tan in this slick, new groovy looking solar panel bikini.
The Solar Bikini is made entirely from photo-voltaic fabric sewn together with conductive thread. Discreetly placed USB ports make it possible to charge cell phones, cameras and music players as long as the sun is shining.
Brooklyn based designer Andrew Schneider came up with the bright idea and currently spends up to 80 hours hand stitching each suit, a process that shows in the suit’s $195 price tag. “The panels have to be stitched together in a very specific way to get proper voltage and amperage,” Schneider says. “But you can even take it in the water with you as long as you are completely dry before hooking up again.” For his next high-tech creation, Schneider plans to make a pair of men’s bathing trunks that will refrigerate a beer. http://andrewjs.com/solarbikini.html (Sun)
