Mumford & Sons played at a state dinner at the White House on Wednesday night. NMEreports that the band was personally invited by British Prime Minister David Cameron to play the event, while President Barack Obama chose John Legend to perform. One thousand guests attended the dinner, which was held in honor of Cameron’s visit to the U-S. Celebrities in attendance included Richard Branson and golf champ Rory McIllroy. Mumford & Sons head down to Austin today for a performance at South By Southwest on Saturday and for the premiere of their documentary Big Easy Railroad.
