COLLABORATIONS: Flaming Lips with Friends for Record Store Day

The Flaming Lips have teamed up with Ke$ha, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and more for a special Record Store Day release. The group is putting out a limited edition double album on April 21st that will feature collaborations with Bon Iver, Nick Cave, My Morning Jacket and more. The collection is called The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends and will come out on double multi-colored vinyl.

SCARY COLLABORATIONS: Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson cover Carly Simon.

MTV News reports that Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson have teamed up for a cover of Carly Simon’s 1927 hit “You’re So Vain.” The song is set to appear as a bonus track on Manson’s upcoming album, Born Villain, which comes out in May. Marilyn says of Depp’s role on the song, “He played drums and lead guitar, and I played guitar and sang. It’s a bonus track on my new record and the video will probably be us looking at each other in a mirror.” Depp’s nine-year-old son, Jack, also reportedly plays on it. Manson and Depp have been friends for years and met on the set of 21 Jump Street.
