muscle_shoals wall of fame (via wn.com)Recording studios are apparently the hip topic. Dave Grohl is premiering his Sound City Studios rock doc this week at Sundance Film Festival and word is Muscle Shoals get the rock doc treatment too. According to Rolling Stone magazine Muscle Shoals, directed by Greg “Freddy” Camalier, is also premiering at Sundance.

The film boasts never before seen footage from some of the legends who recorded in the city; Rolling Stones, Aretha Frankln, Paul Simon and many more. It covers Rick Hall’s FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio (started by FAME’s former rhythm section, the Swampers). “Being there does inspire you to do it slightly differently,” says Mick Jagger in the trailer. “It was really funky; you know, that was the whole idea of it.”

Wonder if Alabama Shakes will be included? Or the Ugli Stick?
