After a small hiatus, the California trio return with a rockin’ cover of The Call’s “Let the Day Begin” from the upcoming album Spectre at the Feast. There’s good reason they chose that song to cover; Robert Been, frontman of BRMC is son of The Call’s frontman and founder, Michael Been. When BRMC’s popularity grew, Michael joined the band on the road as teir sound engineer and pretty much a fourth member.

Then, tragedy struck. One night after a big successful gig, the band, itching to celebrate, returned to their tour bus and to their horror, found Robert Been dead from a heart attack (but at least he died a proud papa).  So to pay homage to a well-respected man, the band made an excellent cover of the Call song.

The full-length album will be available March 13, 2013.

In other BRMC news, Robert and Peter worked with Dave Grohl on his rockumentary Sound City and collaborated on the lead song of the soundtrack, “Heaven and All”.
