He says he’s got “a notebook with 85 new songs” that he’s written for the next record. He revealed that producer T Bone Burnett will meet him in Indiana in January and they’ll head into the studio where John will make his first album in five years. When the record is done, John plans to go on a huge tour. He explained, “I want to do one hundred shows in the United States and Canada. Then I’ll deal with the rest of the world later. I want to play places I haven’t played since the 1980s.” Keep up to date at JohnMellencamp.com.

Today sees the release of John’s huge box set, John Mellencamp 1978 – 2012 with his 19 studio albums,  bonus tracks and remastered sound.
