| Tonight is ‘Devil’s Night’ a Halloween tradition (apparently ‘celebrated’ mostly in Detroit according to Wikipedia). The ‘trick’ part of trick or treat — kids play pranks on the folks who denied them treats the year before. Harmless pranks like rolling toilet paper in trees, soaping the windows, throwing eggs at the house, etc. However, at some point the tradition took a dangerous turn with abandoned houses being burned and soon residential houses. The tradition is referenced in several movies and books, including the film ‘The Crow’. |
