Atlantic Records’ new signing, The Sheepdogs, have a real intriguing story. Hailing from Sasketchewan (that’s way way way way up north Canada, eh), the band was on the brink of extinction when a random good samaritan they met at a party submitted their demo for a North American Battle of the Bands type contest (ironically a music manager). Turned out it was Rolling Stone magazine and Atlantic Records helmed contest that relied on music fan votes for the winner. Over a million and a half votes later and a tour with Kings of Leon, the band now finds themselves on the brink of distinction.
