Guardian UK reports Coldplay to sponsor a fourth Division Cricket club from Cotswalds, called the Slaughters. Can you just picture the shirts? The Slaughters Coldplay. Apparently, all it took was a letter to bassist Guy Berryman. Player got the idea from Coldplay’s past sponsorship activities, a rugby team ‘Stow in the World’. He asked, he received, $750 to help fund the team. Chris Martin is said to be a huge cricket fan too, which helps.

Meanwhile, stateside, some little leaguers get help from Hoodoo voodoo’ers Wilco. They’ll sponsor chicago little league team the Royals and a team in Northampton, called TMM/Wilco.
