Special Ribbon Cutting Gala to celebrate new beginnings for the historic downtown venue will include announcements of confirmed artists slated to perform at the Saenger, followed by a free show with Wet Willie and Port City Rising II.
Huka/SMG proposal to run Saenger is on the table again. Huka says they already have at least ten performances ready to finalize for the remainder of 2013, and at least 64 so far for next year. Those possibilities could be lost if the City does not take action as soon as possible. The Saenger will be shut down October 1 if no decision made pursuant to the City’s agreement to finance it for one year.
