Completely free show, this time with two bands. Reach for the Beach finalist Hotel Oscar and St. Petersburg based national band The Hip Abduction.
Hotel Oscar, who were one of the six finalists of 92ZEW’s reach for the beach challenge to play Hangout Festival last year, will open the 2nd Tuesday show at 7pm.
Afterwards, The Hip Abduction, who’s been making a name for themselves playing national festivals and theatres, take over with a groovy style all their own.
Both shows will be simulcast live and you can listen on 92.1 FM, online at 92ZEW.net and on the 92ZEW free app.
As always, 2nd Tuesday is free for all ages.
ABOUT THE HIP ABDUCTION
The Hip Abduction is an afro-pop/ indie-rock band hailing from St. Petersburg, FL. The sextet places a heavy emphasis on African stringed instruments (kora, ngoni) mixed with dub-reggae bass lines and funky afro-beat percussion making their tropically influenced high-energy performances stand out on festival lineups nationwide. In 2013, The Hip Abduction released a self-titled debut album which landed them at the top of the iTunes and Billboard reggae charts. THA is currently in the studio and looking forward to a follow-up full-album release in early 2016.
ABOUT HOTEL OSCAR
Hotel Oscar is a pioneering blend of the shared and various traditions that comprise the American music ethos; derived from the musical stylings of rock and roll, funk, country, folk, jazz and blues. Formed in the heart of the Florida Panhandle as a roots-rock trio, Hotel Oscar has developed into a refined portrayal of honest, American – made Rock & Roll.
