92ZEW proudly presents Trombone Shorty, live in concert, at the right time, Mardi Gras season! With Special Guests, Bonerama.

Trombone Shorty (aka Troy Andrews), was born with music notes on his head and a bone in his, uh. Well then, anyway, the NOLA prodigy is adored all over the world and on tv (he frequents the HBO series Treme as an actor and a well-respected player). Shorty’s worked with everyone from Jeff Beck to Kid Rock. With driving guitars and a backbeat that blends smoothly with his trademark edgy bone style, Troy Andrews (like his good friends and contemporaries Galactic)  does more than put on a show, the whole room IS the show.

Like Galactic says, ‘this ain’t your Daddy’s Mardi Gras music.’

Trombone Shorty’s new album ‘For True’ (produced by Ben Ellman of Galactic) was released on Universal/Verve last year and features a bevy of  musical heavyweights;  Jeff Beck, Kid Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Stanton Moore (Galactic), Rebirth Brass Band, Warren Haynes and believe it or not Kid Rock. Adding to the Detroit connection, Shorty even collaborated with Lamont Dozier on ‘Encore’, a song with that Motown feel layered with the luscious lagniappe of NOLA sounds and Warren Haynes on guitar. Wowzers.
