Friday, Saturday and Sunday – The Weeks Bay Reserve 9am – 4pm each day or until the plants are sold out. The sale is across U.S. Highway 98 from the Weeks Bay Interpretive Center, just west of the Fish River Bridge between Foley and Fairhope.
The sale features hard to find native trees, shrubs, perennials, wetland, dune and beach plants, including plants particularly attractive to butterflies, song birds and hummingbirds. Many rare plants and Alabama wild flowers will be available at the sale.
Landscaping with native plants means using plants that grow naturally in this area’s climate – our heat, humidity and rainfall. By planting a native plant in the correct location, once the plant becomes established there will be little need to water the plant even in times of little rainfall.
Plant experts and growers will be on hand to answer questions and to assist with selections. All proceeds from the sale are used to support Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve activities.
