The classic art of storytelling takes center stage in this two-man show by Stephen Mallatratt. Based on the novel by Susan Hill, The Woman In Black tells the story of a man trying to escape ghostly events from his past that have haunted him for years. The play, one of the longest-running productions in the history of London theatre, provides enough startling, even frightful moments to keep the audience engrossed from beginning to end.
A solicitor is aided in the telling of his tale by “the actor” who helps him perform a staged reading of the traumatic events of his past. As the two work together and with the aid of staged effects the play takes on a life of its own and we are with the young Kipps as he recalls his unfortunate introduction to The Woman in Black.
Ought to be plenty o’ fun – shows are Oct. 26, 27, 28 & 31 and Nov. 2 & 3 – curtain is at 8pm except for Sundays when it is at 2pm.
