MOBILE, AL—October 21, 2011–The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of South Alabama will be held on Saturday, October 29 at Bienville Square. This inspiring 5 mile walk unites the entire community to honor and celebrate breast cancer survivors, educate women about the importance of early detection and prevention, and raise money to fund life-saving research and support programs to further our progress against this disease.
Making Strides participant and breast cancer survivor, Jacque Mayhall is excited about this event and her opportunity to walk. “I am thrilled that the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is taking place right here in my community. It has been a blast getting involved and raising money and awareness,” said Mayhall. “I hope that this event will help to ensure that others will not have to go through the battle that I have been through. I hope it will bring us one step closer to a cure.”
