Two musical minds have gone to the next world today… Marvin Isley of the infamous soulful group the Isley Brothers (‘Twist and Shout”, “It’s your Thing”), reportedly died today at age 56, causes undisclosed at this time. The band retired in ’97 when Marvin suffered complications with diabetes causing amputation of both his legs. Brother Ron later went to prison for tax evastion.

Meanwhile, across the pond, another soulful group of the electronic chill kind, lost its former drummer. Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable was found dead today at his apartment in Wales. Cable left the band in 2003 to host his own rock show on the BBC radio. Cause of death undisclosed, he was 40 years old.
