Happy Thanksgiving

The classic episode of WKRP in Cincinnati where a Thanksgiving promotion goes insanely wrong. Just listening to Les Nessman’s vivid description is so funny (especially if you’ve ever worked in radio):

Turkeys are falling from the sky like sacks of wet cement,….. Oh the Humanity….  Not since the Hindenberg tragedy has there been anything like this’

So many other great lines too.  Interesting observation that’s probably a coincidence, without the commercials, the live report starts at exactly 17:00 in the video. In real time it’s top of the hour, when traditional radio cuts to national or local newsbreak.  The beep you hear just before news starts is actually a cuetone to alert to ‘pot it up’.
