Music Notes: Quadrophenia Rockumentary; Green Day gets Dancy
Quadrophenia is one of The Whoâ€™s most iconic albums and next month, you can learn all about what went into the making of the record. For one-night only, The Who: Quadrophenia â€“ Can You See the Real Me?, the story behind the album, will be screened in movie theaters nationwide. The documentary promises to give fans an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the band and their music. Itâ€™s filled with never-before-seen stories and interviews with the band members. Green Day are releasing a dance track, believe it or not. Singer Billie Joe Armstrong told Contact Music that bassist Mike Dirt asked him to write a song with a â€œfour-on-the-floor rhythm.â€ Billie went on to explain, ”I’d never done it before. It’s kind of like [The Clash’s] ‘Sandinista!’â€ The track, which is titled â€œKill the DJ,â€ will be released on one of the records in their trilogy of albums coming out later this year.
