MoonPie over Mobile New Years Eve

MoonPie over Mobile New Years EveDowntown Mobile welcomes over 50,000 people each New Year’s Eve for an evening of celebratory activities leading up to the giant 600 pound electric MoonPie drop, laser light show and fireworks at midnight! Come be part of the celebration that begins with the cutting of the world’s largest edible MoonPie, followed by a second-line parade led by the Excelsior Band. Everyone is encouraged to decorate umbrella Mardi Gras style and participate in the second line down Royal Street to Bienville Square.

This year, revelers are encouraged to come early and watch the College Football Championship evening playoff game televised live from the stage located off Bienville Square. Then, En Vogue will take the stage to “Free Your Mind” and dance until the MoonPie drops at midnight!

Take advantage of special hotel packages and stay the evening. Local restaurants, bars and taverns will be filled with families and friends old and new. Visit mobilenewyear.com or mobile.org for more information.
