Five tips to improve heart health:

  1. Exercise
  2. Reduce sugar intake
  3. Reduce salt intake
  4. Quit smoking
  5. Know your numbers (blood pressure)

American Heart Association Baldwin Heart Walk set for

The annual Heart Walk at the Fairhope Pier will help raise awareness, compassion and a deeper understanding of the implications of heart disease

 

Fairhope, AL (August 16, 2016) – The Baldwin Heart Walk, an event to benefit the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association, will take place on October 8, 2016 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Fairhope Pier (located at 1 Beach Road). Approximately 1,000 guests are expected to attend the walk.

 

Chairing the Baldwin Heart Walk this year is Doug Garner of Thomas Hospital. Sponsors for this year’s event include The Snook Foundation, Thomas Hospital, Cardiology Associates, Meyer Vacation Rentals, MedStar, Riviera Utilities, STEMI Alert and The First of Baldwin County. The American Heart Association Heart Walk is sponsored nationally by Subway.
Combining fitness and philanthropy, this annual walk brings together walk teams, individual walkers, survivors of heart disease and stroke, and lifestyle change heroes who are all taking steps toward a healthier lifestyle while raising funds to combat heart disease and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 5 leading killers of American men and women. Proceeds go toward funding research, education and community programs targeting these issues.

implications of heart disease

 

Mobile, AL (August 16, 2016) – The Mobile Heart Walk, an event to benefit the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association, will take place on November 12, 2016 beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the University of South Alabama Mitchell Center. Approximately 2,000 guests are expected to attend the walk.

 

The chair of the 2016 Mobile Heart Walk is Travis Short of Horizon Shipbuilding. The Platform Sponsor of this year’s Heart Walk event is Alexander Shunnarah and Associates Personal Injury Attorneys.
