We’re All Gonna Die, which was released September 16th on the band’s own HUB Records, debuted at No. 18 on the Top Current Album charts and No. 1 on overall vinyl sales in the country. The band recently performed three songs on “CBS This Morning: Saturday” honoring them as “one of the most respected live bands around in their decade-long journey. “Watch the interview plus performances here:http://bit.ly/2dHBP5G

The new album continues to receive critical acclaim:

“Now, they’ve slicked up their Seventies ideal, with a big FM-radio sound built on string sections, processed vocals, glockenspiels, and vintage synths”Rolling Stone

“On their new album, however, Dawes took a sharp turn without signaling. They traded jangling guitars for swampy keyboards and forsook traditional folk-rock for timeless pop-soul
—all with ravishing results. ”New York Observer

“…the band’s acoustic instruments, unadorned production and open-hearted harmonies have been transformed on its new album, “We’re All Gonna Die,” into numbers with distorted vocals, electric guitars and new kinds of rhythms.” – Salon

“We’re All Gonna Die opens with “One of Us,” an upbeat, fuzzed out rock song that could be on a Danger Mouse-era Black Keys record, but for the subtle djembe/conga percussion. Frontman Taylor Goldsmith experiments with R&B-style falsetto on songs like the title track, and the plaintive piano songs of yore now learn more heavily on keyboard synths and textural effects. ”– Paste

“The LA- band’s latest LP is by far their best…” – Noisey

“…the band rocks more convincingly here than they ever have before, with the sassy and sarcastic “One Of Us” and the divorce play-by-play “Roll With The Punches” delivering both insight and impact.”

Recently, the official music video for the album’s lead single, “When The Tequila Runs Out,” debuted. Directed by Kevin Hayes, the video was filmed with a slow motion camera capturing fun moments throughout a late night party as if it were slowly being recalled the next morning in a fuzzy hungover haze.

We’re All Gonna Die was recorded at EastWest Studios (Los Angeles, CA) with additional recording at The Boat (Silverlake, CA) and was produced by Grammy nominated producer Blake Mills (Alabama Shakes). The record features ten original tracks and includes backing vocals from Brittany Howard ofAlabama ShakesJim James of My Morning JacketHolly Laessig and Jess Wolfe of LuciusMandyMoore and Will Oldham as well as MPC programming from Jim Keltner on “When The Tequila Runs Out.”

Of the album, Taylor Goldsmith (guitar, vocals) explains, “These songs were all written in a very short period of time, very close together. In that sense I feel like there was a consistency in mood and outlook our other records don’t have. Pretty much every song on this record explores a difficult situation and tries to find a way to find the good in it, or at least remind yourself that it’s not always that big of a deal. After all, as scary as it is, we are all gonna die.”

The band consists of Goldsmith, Wylie Gelber (bass), Griffin Goldsmith (drums, vocals, percussion) andLee Pardini (keyboards, vocals). Dawes has toured extensively playing headline shows worldwide and major festival appearances including Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and Newport Folk Festival. Recently, they have toured with My Morning Jacket, Bob Dylan, Mumford and Sons, Conor Oberst and Jackson Browne.
