If I Had a Million Dollars, would you Hold My Hand? Hootie & the Blowfish, Barenaked Ladies Announce ‘Group Therapy Tour’

Hootie & the Blowfish

Hootie and the Blowfish

In 2019, Cracked Rear View, the 21-times-platinum debut album by Hootie & the Blowfish, will turn 25.  In honor of the occasion,  they’re hitting the road and releasing new material.

Some people know Darius Rucker as only a country star.  But a lot of us will always know him as ‘Hootie’ even though that’s not his name.

They’ll start its Group Therapy Tour May 30 in Virginia Beach and wind around to The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach on June 6.  Right now the tour is set to wrap up in Columbia, South Carolina, September 13,  however they could add more dates.  Tickets for the tour go on sale to the general public on Friday.

Going along for the ride are Canadian hitmakers, Barenaked Ladies, so go ahead & get the green dress for more than one week!

The Group Therapy Tour kicks off May 30 in Virginia Beach, VA, and is right now scheduled to wrap up in Columbia, South Carolina on September 13.

“Once the four of us met and started playing shows, we toured for years before signing a record deal,” Darius says in a statement.

Which brings up more news: Hootie & the Blowfish have signed a new record deal and plan to release a new album in 2019.

By the way, this isn’t exactly a “reunion” tour for Hootie: They continue to play together here and there, including an annual charity show. This past summer, they joined Jason Aldean and a few other country acts for one-off concert at Georgia’s SunTrust Park.
