Woodstock 50th Anniversary festival planning has met yet another hurdle. Organizers were denied a permit to hold the weekend camping fest at Vernon Downs Racetrack after about 100 people objected at a town hall meeting. Residents are worried about noise, traffic & potential vandalism.
Woodstock 50 originally was supposed to take place August 16-18 at Watkins Glen International speedway in Watkins Glen, New York, about 120 miles southwest of Vernon.
A variety of issues have plagued the event since plans for the three-day festival were announced in March, including theoriginal financial backer pulling out, and Watkins Glen speedway terminating the organizers’ license for the site.
