Paul McCartney writing his first musical

Paul McCartney wrapped his tour and announced another endeavor: he’s writing his first musical. He’ll adapt the classic Jimmy Stewart film It’s a Wonderful Life, writing the music and lyrics, while Tony-winning playwright Lee Hall will co-write the lyrics and also write the book. They hope for a 2020 opening on Broadway.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs Guitarist forms a massive orchestra to play his music

Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner has assembled a 51-person orchestra to perform a four-part symphony he composed for Earth Day, called “41 strings”. Zinner enlisted some major talent for the occasion, including Paul Banks of Interpol, Lenny Kaye from the Patti Smith Group, Nancy Whang from LCD Soundsystem and more. The performance is July 27.
