The extended tour marks the 10th anniversary of Mt. Joy. The group debuted back in 2016 with their breakout single Astrovan, and they are using this milestone to look back on the journey. In a Facebook post the band shared, “ten years since we first jammed into a rehearsal space [drummer Sotiris Eliopoulos] had locked out to practice drums… not much has changed to be honest, we just keep pushing to make music we love for anyone kind enough to care. Now we just do it in iconic venues to the best fans in the world. It is party time.”

The Los Ageless artist says she has always been drawn to holiday songs that blend warmth with a subtle sense of sadness. “My favorite Christmas songs have an underlying sense of melancholy mixed in with the warmth of their familiarity,” she explains. She adds that the song feels especially powerful when sung by someone who sounds alone, noting the lyric “next year all our troubles will be out of sight.” To her, the holiday season becomes a brief refuge after a difficult year and a hopeful look toward the one ahead.
