GULF COAST CHINESE LANTERN FESTIVAL- Thurs-Sun 5pm-10pm, Apr 17-Jun 15, Open Easter and Memorial Day, Bellingrath Gardens, Theodore.During this Spring night-time event, the Gardens will be transformed into a dazzling showcase of light, color, and culture. As evening falls, the estate will become a radiant dreamscape featuring 41 towering, handcrafted light sculptures, each glowing with vivid hues and artistic detail. Visitors will journey through the estate, where each glowing display tells a story through plants, animals, and fantastical creatures, blending ancient tradition with modern innovation. 

CRAWFISH MUSIC FESTIVAL- Fri 5pm; Sat/Sun 1pm, Mississippi Coast Coliseum, Biloxi.For more than three decades, the Mississippi Coast Coliseum has hosted the Crawfish Music Festival to provide quality entertainment and family fun to the Southeast. Each night of the Festival promises fun, excitement, and a little something new, whether it’s hot boiled crawfish, exciting carnival rides, or headline entertainment – including Gavin Adcock Friday night; Puddle of Mudd and Hinder Saturday; Bret Michaels and Sister Hazel Sunday.

SATURDAY: 

LOVE YOUR COMMUNITY EARTH DAY CELEBRATION- Sat 10am-2pm, 92 ZEW will be live at Chickasabogue Park, Mobile. Enjoy a day outdoors at this free celebration, featuring live music, vendor and environmental education, park amenities, lawn games, rock climbing wall, Bookmobile/story time, electric vehicle show, pet adoptions, caricature artist, plant giveaways, and more. Food will be available for purchase through food trucks.

LOPE THE LOOP- Sat 8am, The Ice Box, Broad St, Mobile.Runners, walkers, wheelchair users, cyclists, parents with children, leashed dogs, and others are welcome to participate in this FREE 3.5 mile walk/run and duathlon around the Henry Aaron Loop, hosted by the MPRD Fitness Department, and in conjunction with the 100 Alabama Miles Challenge, which encourages Alabamians to walk, run, hike, bike, swim, paddle, ride or roll 100 miles each year.

MOBILE’S LARGEST YARD SALE- Sat 7am-11am, The Grounds, West Mobile. Admission and parking for the Yard Sale is free, but you must purchase a space to sell items.

FLORA-BAMA INTERSTATE MULLET TOSS- Fri-Sun 10am-4pm, Flora-Bama Lounge, Perdido Key.The Interstate Mullet Toss & Gulf Coast’s Greatest Beach Party is legendary! What started as just a reason to party has become one of the biggest beach parties on the coast. Those who participate in the Mullet Toss will throw a dead mullet over the state line of Florida and Alabama to see who gets the farthest. Proceeds go to local charities. 

MOBILE SYMPHONY performs HANDEL’S MESSIAH- Sat 7:30pm, Sun 2:30pm, Mobile Saenger Theatre.

FANTASTICAL FOREST FAMILY DAY- Sat 11am-2pm, Mobile Museum of Art, Langan Park. Celebrate the new Fantastical Forest exhibition with a day full of fun all about art and our environment! Register for a low-cost class to create your own Fantastical Shoe Box Diorama with Lucy Gafford (BYOB – Bring Your Own Box), enjoy a walk and sketch tour of Long Leaf Pines with educators from Mobile Botanical Gardens, and meet museum volunteers outside on the sculpture trail to make a nature collage. In addition, general admission to the Museum will be free all day! 

INDEPENDENT BOOKSTORE DAY- Sat various times.  Each year, the American Booksellers Association runs the event, and 1,600 bookstores across the country are participating this year . . . many with special events all weekend long.
