3rd Annual ORANGE BEACH SEAFOOD FESTIVAL & CAR SHOWSat 10am-4pm, The Wharf, Orange Beach. Bring the whole family out to enjoy an extraordinary festival where gleaming classic and hot rod vehicles meet coastal charm! Savor the delicious seafood, live music + entertainment stages, and arts and crafts vendors. All proceeds from this event hosted by the City of Orange Beach will support the Makos Academics Arts & Athletics Club (MAAAC) and Orange Beach schools.

KREWE DU KIDZ MASQUERADE- Sat 12noon-5pm, Downtown OWA, OWA Parks & Resort, Foley. Perfect for kids of all ages, this free event features crafts, games, and a shoebox float competition. It all leads up to the crowning of the Krewe du Kidz King and Queen, who will be invited to ride on OWA’s float at the Mardi Gras Parade & Party on March 2nd.

4th ANNUAL KNIFE MAKING COMPETITION- Sat 9am-3pm. Battleship Park. This family-friendly event will feature former contestants from the History Channel’s “Forged in Fire” as they demonstrate their knife-making skills. A $5 suggested admission fee includes entry into a giveaway for one of the knives crafted during the event. Proceeds from the event will benefit Forging A Difference, a nonprofit organization that utilizes blacksmithing and knife making to support Veterans, Active Duty Military, Law Enforcement, and First Responders.

Excelsior Band Preservation: The Jazz Studio. Sat 11am-1pm, Springhill College. A program of Excelsior Band Preservation, welcomes aspiring youth musicians from the greater Mobile area to participate in its year-round jazz-focused program. Sessions take place at the Murphy Fine Arts Building on the campus of Spring Hill College f on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. Designed for students in grades 6-12 with at least one year of music instruction, the program provides an opportunity to develop jazz skills in a supportive and educational environment.

HAMLET- Sat 7pm, Sun 3pm, Lonnie & Lynne Burnett Event Center, University of Mobile. Experience Hamlet like never before with a fresh approach that reimagines Shakespeare’s classic tragedy through the lens of the “Princess Diaries.” This unique production offers a new perspective on the timeless themes of power, revenge, and madness, delivering a thought-provoking and engaging performance that will redefine how you see the story.

MOBILE OPERA SUNDAY AFTERNOON TEA- Sun 3pm, Bragg Mitchell Mansion, Mobile. Special guest speaker, Dr. Norman McCrummen, will provide interesting details and insights into the life of literary notable, Zelda Fitzgerald, an Alabama native and the subject of Mobile Opera’s Spring production, The Ghosts of Gatsby. Mobile Opera’s Willson Scholarship recipients will provide musical entertainment for the afternoon.

CHICKASABOGUE PARK REOPENING CELEBRATION- Sun 2-4pm. The event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, face painting, food trucks, lawn games, and more at Chickasabogue Park, located at 760 Aldock Road, Eight Mile, AL 36613. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore several new and upgraded amenities, including:

  • A redesigned day-use area with ample parking
  • A new playground
  • A new splashpad
  • Improved multiuse courts for basketball, pickleball, and tennis
  • A new restroom facility
  • A new pavilion
  • An upgraded disc golf course
  • Enhanced hiking and biking trails
  • Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for comfort. Those interested in exploring Chickasabogue Creek should bring their own kayak or canoe. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from food trucks. The park gates will open at noon.
