Weekend Rundown for January 24th-26th

Several events were rescheduled due to the winter storm. Here is the latest on what we have for you to do this weekend.

 THURSDAY:

MOBILE JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL- Various dates/locations through Jan 30th, Mobile and Fairhope. The Survivor- Thurs 7pm, Fairhope USA Campus; Sun 2pm, Ahavas Chesed Synagogue, Mobile. Directed by Academy Award-winner Barry Levinson and based on a true story. Guest Speaker: Alan Haft, son of Harry Haft and Fairhope-based author of the book, Harry Haft: Survivor of Auschwitz, Challenger of Rocky Marciano

I DO! I DO!- Thurs-Sat 7:30pm, Sun 2:30pm (Jan 16-Jan 26), Chickasaw Civic Theatre, Chickasaw. The musical I Do! I Do! brings to life the story of a couple, from their marriage in 1898 through the subsequent fifty years — with kids and diapers, careers and caresses, and even the occasional spat.

DIAL M FOR MURDER-Thurs/Fri/Sat 7:30pm, Sun 2:30pm, Jan 24-Feb 9th, Theatre 98, Fairhope. An updated version of Frederick Knott’s tale of deception, jealousy, and murder that inspired the classic Alfred Hitchcock film. Tony and Margot appear outwardly to have a perfect life in 1950’s London, until Tony discovers Margot’s affair and decides to plan the perfect crime.

OWA ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL- Sat 12noon- 6pm, Downtown OWA, OWA Parks & Resort, Foley. This family-friendly festival features a variety of local artists, vendors, and small businesses showcasing their handmade goods. Take your time browsing the unique booths, enjoy live music and kids activities, and find something special to take home

SUNDAY:

GUMBO & ALABAMA SLAMMER FESTIVAL- WAS SATURDAY RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY! 10am-6pm at Heritage Park, Foley, Alabama. Admission is $5.00, children 12 and under are free. Attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in a variety of gumbo recipes, from traditional Creole and Cajun styles to innovative twists by local chefs.great live music all day, fine artists and crafters, fun contests, kids’ zone with free face painting, petting zoo, and more family friendly activities.
