THURSDAY:

CATT’S PRINTS- Thurs 5:30 -8:00 pm. Studio 1927 next to the Saenger. The Mobile Arts Council is spotlighting our own Catt Sirtin’s Photography and celebrating two immensely influential artists, at an closing reception for Catt Prints: An Exhibition for the Photography of Catt Sirten and Jerry Roldan: A Retrospective. FREE. We are privileged to honor the profound contributions these artists have made to our city through their unique perspectives and artistic visions.

USA HEALTH DOC ROCK- Thurs 6:30pm, Soul Kitchen, Downtown Mobile. Doc Rock is a “battle of the bands” style event where at least one member of each band has an affiliation with USA Health. You can vote for your favorite band, and prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories. Proceeds benefit research and critical clinical needs at USA Health.

JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL- Ain’t No Back To The Merry Go Round – Thurs 7 pm. The USA Laidlaw Performing Arts Center.  This documentary revisits pivotal events at Glen Echo Amusement Park in 1960 when protests involving Howard University students, Jewish neighbors, and the appearance of the American Nazi Party challenged segregation and sparked lasting change in the Civil Rights Movement. The screening will feature post-film commentary by Dr. Donald Shaffer, Director of African American Studies at Mississippi State University.

 FRIDAY:

SENIOR BOWL STREET PARTY/ MARDI GRAS PLAYER PARADE – Fri 6pm, Downtown Mobile Entertainment District, Dauphin Street. Join us on the parade route from the Renaissance Hotel on Royal St., and then west on Dauphin St. towards Cathedral Square for the annual Mardi Gras-style player parade. Local high school marching bands will lead the players (in their college jerseys), college mascots, local dignitaries and NFL cheerleaders as we show the country what Mardi Gras in Mobile is all about! 

THE TAMING OF THE SHREW- Jan 24-Feb 2, Fri & Sat 7:30PM, Sun 2PM. Joe Jefferson Playhouse, Mobile.This is a WWE Wrestling twist on a classic Shakespeare play. Grab tickets to this Shakespeare SMACKDOWN now.

DIAL M FOR MURDER-Thurs/Fri/Sat 7:30pm, Sun 2:30pm, Jan 24-Feb 9th, Theatre 98, Fairhope. An updated version of Frederick Knott’s tale of deception, jealousy, and murder that inspired the classic Alfred Hitchcock film. Tony and Margot appear outwardly to have a perfect life in 1950’s London, until Tony discovers Margot’s affair and decides to plan the perfect crime.

PLANTERS NUTMOBILE- Fri-Sun, Orange Beach and Gulf ShoresThe Planters Nutmobile will be here this weekend, so you can meet the “Peanutters”, take a tour, take photos, and enjoy samples of Planters nuts! Look for the NUTMobile at these locations:

 Orange Beach Friday 4pm-5:30pm  

This event is free and open to the public.

SATURDAY:

BATTLEFIELD BLITZ 5K & 1 MILE FUN RUN- 8am-11am. Historic Blakeley State Park, Spanish Fort. Blakeley’s annual “Battlefield Blitz 5K and Fun Run” is a fundraiser directly benefitting park programming and special projects. Held on the grounds of Alabama’s largest Civil War battlefield, the Blitz is a unique community event.

KREWE DE LA DAUPHINE PARADESat 1pm, Dauphin Island. 

SENIOR BOWL FAN FEST- Sat 10:30, Hancock Whitney Stadium, USA campus, Mobile.The Senior Bowl Fan Fest will be located on the southwest lawn of Hancock Whitney Stadium! This FREE fun zone will include food, inflatables, yard games, and other family-fun activities. Stop by for a quick bite, meet the New Orleans Saints Cheer Krewe, and college mascots from across the country.

SENIOR BOWL PATH TO THE DRAFT TEAM WALK- Sat 11am, Hancock Whitney Stadium, USA campus, Parking Lot 105.Like Alabama’s Walk of Champions and Auburn’s Tiger Walk, the Senior Bowl Path to the Draft Team Walk will pass through the south side parking lot (105). This is a chance for the public to get up close and high-five their favorite college football players on their way to the stadium.  

REESE’S SENIOR BOWL – Sat 1:30pm, Hancock Whitney Stadium, USA campus, Mobile.The Reese’s Senior Bowl is widely regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game and the first stage in the NFL Draft process. The longest continual-running all-star game has taken place in Mobile the past 76 years. More than 900 NFL personnel, including key decision-makers from all 32 teams, are visiting the Port City for Senior Bowl week. 

CRUISE TO THE SITE OF THE CLOTILDA- 1:30-3:30pm. Cooper Riverside Park. This guided tour, conducted by Africatown Experience Tours, features descendants of Clotilda passengers, storytellers, and Africatown community leaders dedicated to preserving and sharing this important history. Participants will gain insights into the Clotilda’s voyage, the lives of its passengers, and the lasting legacy of this significant chapter in history, as told through the voices of those connected to the story.

MOBILE OPERA: GALLANTRY- Sat 7:30pm, Murphy High School Auditorium, Mobile. Mobile Opera pays homage to the television comedy hours of the 1950s with a vibrant showcase of emerging talent, featuring a special presentation of Douglas Moore’s opera that combines hospital drama with a nod to the classic “soaps.”
