GULF COAST CHINESE LANTERN FESTIVAL- Thurs-Sun 5pm-10pm, Apr 17-Jun 15, Open Easter and Memorial Day, Bellingrath Gardens, Theodore.During this Spring night-time event, the Gardens will be transformed into a dazzling showcase of light, color, and culture. As evening falls, the estate will become a radiant dreamscape featuring 41 towering, handcrafted light sculptures, each glowing with vivid hues and artistic detail. Visitors will journey through the estate, where each glowing display tells a story through plants, animals, and fantastical creatures, blending ancient tradition with modern innovation.
MOVIES IN THE PARK: DISNEY’S THE LION KING- Fri 6pm-9pm, Heroes Park, 7171 Old Military Rd, Theodore. The movie will begin promptly at dusk, however, we have some great pre-movie entertainment planned for our guests! In honor of The Lion KING, there will be ROYALTY in the house in the form of the R.O.Y.A.L. IMPRINT Dance Team, who will be performing an African dance number! Plus free popcorn, lawn games, face-painting, and more fun activities for the kids!
NAPOLEON DYNAMITE LIVE with Jon Heder, Efren Ramirez and Jon Gries – Fri 7:30pm, Mobile Saenger Theatre.This unique evening includes a full screening of Napoleon Dynamite followed by a lively, freewheeling, discussion with fan-favorite cast members; Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Jon Gries (Uncle Rico) and Efren Ramirez (Pedro). The live show – perfect for the whole family — is a wild and hysterical blend of Q&A, comedy improv, game show, and party, with plenty of audience participation.
SATURDAY:
EASTER EXTRAVAGANZA- Sat 12 noon-3pm, 3 Mobile County Parks: Chickasabogue Park, Escatawpa Hollow Park & Campground, and Bayfront Park.It’s an Eggstravaganza — Mobile County’s largest Easter egg hunt! 8,000 toy- or candy-filled eggs spread across three Mobile County Parks. Enjoy music, park amenities and playgrounds, lawn games, face painting, photos with the Easter Bunny, and more. The Easter egg hunts begin promptly at 2 p.m. at each location, with two age categories: children 6 and younger, and those 7 and older. Free family fun (no admission fee). Each park will have an Easter bunny + photo area
BUNNIES & BASKETS (and Easter Egg Helicopter Drop)- Sat 10am-6pm, Downtown OWA, OWA Parks & Resort, Foley.Get creative with hands-on crafts, snap the perfect photo with Mr. Bunny, and enjoy festive activities that bring the season to life. Don’t miss the Easter Egg Helicopter Drop, where thousands of eggs will rain down from the sky in an exciting, age-separated scramble for eggs filled with surprises. Drops start at 10:30.

SUNSHINE KIDS CARIBBEAN CARNIVAL IN THE PARK- Sat 11am, Cathedral Square, Downtown Mobile. Children will light up the streets in dazzling costumes as they parade with energetic troupes in a celebration bursting with color and excitement. Families can look forward to bounce castles, games with prizes, face painting, delicious treats, and a full day of adventure.
KITES OVER MOBILE- Sat 10am-5pm; Sun 12noon-5pm; USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park, Mobile.This high-flying event will feature professional kite demonstrations, a show kite display, a kite hospital, and kites available for purchase (visitors may also bring their own). Saturday, the Easter Bunny will be there for photo ops. Sunday, there will be Easter Egg Hunts:
- Ages 1-3 hunt from 2 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday
- Ages 4-6 hunt from 3 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday
- Ages 7-10 hunt from 4 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday
Parking is $5 for cars, $30 for RVs.
