WZEW, WNSP, WZEW HD 2 (96.5 The Crab) & WZEW HD 3 (92.5 The Soul) ISSUES and PROGRAMMING TO ADDRESS THOSE ISSUES, 2nd Quarter, 2026
The following are the issues of public importance identified by radio station WZEW-FM and WNSP-FM in the 2nd Quarter of 2026 for Mobile, Fairhope and the surrounding service area:
1) The improvement and protection of the environment in Mobile and Baldwin counties along with Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.
2) The need for funding and support of the Child Advocacy Center for victims of sexual and physical abuse within the Mobile/Fairhope area.
3) The Public promotion of local radio and awareness at two different business conventions.
4) The need for volunteer action to support programs and services for non-profit agencies within the service area.
5) Support for the Fairhope Rotary Club at their annual Steak Cook Off.
6) Support for, and education about, the arts and the role they play in our community.
WZEW-FM and WNSP-FM offer extended airtime to legitimate public service groups through our liberal offering of airtime to legitimate public service groups. Included in the 2nd quarter were American Red Cross, Child Advocacy Center, the Lagniappe, Mobile Arts Council, Mobile Bay Keeper, The Mobile Public Library, The Joe Jefferson Playhouse and the. All the PSA’s that aired on WZEW-FM and WNSP are listed under separate cover in the public file.
Public News/Lagniappe
WZEW-FM and WNSP-FM have dedicated time to supporting news efforts in partnership with the Lagniappe weekly newspaper to cover stories of public interest that go uncovered due to the area’s lack of a daily newspaper.
Downtown Cajun Cookoff
WZEW-FM promoted, gave tickets away and had a booth set up at the 10th Annual Cajun Cookoff, which directly benefited The Child Advocacy Center. The following email was sent by the Director of Communications thanking WZEW:
Thank you for being an amazing sponsor at this year’s cook off!! We appreciate each of you who help make this event a success and helping raise of $55,00 to help fund free services at the CAC. We sold over1970 tickets this year. Despite the sprinklers!!!

The Arts in our Community
WZEW-FM and WNSP-FM are a proud sponsor of the Arts in Mobile & Baldwin Counties. This includes setting live on location and promoting events on the air on all of our Sound of Mobile Stations for the The Joe Jefferson Playhouse, The Mobile Arts Council, Loda Art Walk/Arts Alive!, The Fairhope First Friday Artwalk, Mobile Opera & Symphony and many others. Guests from the Mobile Arts Council were interviewed on air, and tickets to plays and performances were given away on air and on location.
The West Mobile and Eastern Shore Chamber
of Commerce Annual Business Expos
WZEW-FM and WNSP-FM appeared at both the West Mobile Chamber of Commerce Business Expo Wednesday April 22nd, and the Eastern Shore Business Expo in Baldwin County, Thursday April 30th, using both to promote local radio growth and to extend availability to local businesses and non profit organizations.
The Weekend Rundown
All four of the Dotcom Communication stations, WNSP – FM,
WZEW – FM, WZEW –FM2, and WZEW – FM3, created The
Weekend Rundown to promote local events and fundraisers
on a weekly basis on air, and were posted on 92zew.net
The Fairhope Rotary Club Steak Cookoff
WZEW-FM, and WNSP both sponsored and appeared on site at the 20th Annual Fairhope Seak Cook-Off, Saturday May 9th. $3500 in trade was given to promote and sponsor the event, and a tent was set up on location in Downtown Fairhope on North Bancroft Street.

7AM-8AM to new public programming, airing two shows

policy. Viewpoints reports each week on social issues, the
environment, history, food – you name it. Could the plague
