Noah Kahan Reflects on 3 Years of Stick Season: “I’ll Never Get Sick of It”

Three years ago, Noah Kahan released Stick Season, the album that turned the Vermont singer-songwriter into a global, Grammy-nominated star.

On Tuesday (Oct. 14), Noah took to Instagram to celebrate the album’s third anniversary, sharing how much it still means to him.

“Stick Season is 3 years old and I’ll never get sick of it,” he wrote. “I love it so much and I love how many people it’s reached. I love being ‘that New England guy.’ If telling stories about the greatest state in the world is what I’m known for, then I’ll be a happy man for the rest of my life.”

In his post, Noah shared a heartfelt video that literally shows how it started vs. how it’s going, beginning with March 2022 footage of him in Vermont, “making music about Vermont,” and feeling like “people are gonna like it because it feels very authentic and real.”

The clip flashes forward to scenes from his sold-out Fenway Park show in 2024, where he performed “Stick Season” alongside James Bay, Mt. Joy, and even members of his family, as thousands of fans sang every word back.

It also nods to the 2023 We’ll All Be Here Forever expanded edition, the version that cemented his place as one of today’s most beloved folk-pop storytellers.
