Although Sum 41 has officially retired, frontman Deryck Whibley isn’t leaving the band’s music behind. Whibley recently revealed to Rock Sound that he has recorded an acoustic album of Sum 41 songs, giving fans a fresh, stripped-down take on the band’s biggest hits.
“I’d like to do an acoustic tour of Sum 41 songs,” Whibley shared. “I have an acoustic record that I recorded, and it is done, of Sum 41 songs. That may come out sometime soon.” While there are no official tour plans yet, fans can look forward to the potential release of this intimate collection.
Sum 41 played their final concert in January 2025 and officially retired after their performance at the 2025 Juno Awards, where they were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
Outside of music, Whibley keeps busy with his memoir Walking Disaster (2024) and his clothing line of the same name, continuing to connect with fans in new ways.
